About me

 DSC03543

Words inspire me. Because words are the tool that help create stories. Stories that happen in real life and stories that are the product of a fertile imagination. Stories that inspire. Me. Anyone. Everyone.

The child of a Railways father, I was born in the holiest of holy cities in India, Varanasi. I went to three different schools in three different cities. After completing my high school education in Lucknow, I moved to our hometown Pune, about 900 miles away, where I got my Masters in English and a Bachelors in Mass Communication and Journalism. Married life took me to Bangalore in December of 1995 for an year and then half-way around the world to Cupertino, USA for another year. A change of job took us to Colorado Springs, where we lived for about 6 years and where both of our beautiful children were born. Determination to raise them near family took us back to our hometown Pune in January 2003 once again. Our stay this time was for 9 years. A transfer of job then took us to Winnersh in England. An year and a half there, and yet another transfer brought us back to Cupertino, USA. Back full circle. What a whirlwind of a life it now feels!

While I have grown to love traveling and living in new places, it was not so easy as a little girl. New places meant new schools, new friends, which were not easy for me, an extremely shy person then, to make. And so, I wrote. All of my feelings, thoughts, battles in a little black diary. But as life happened as an adult, I was too busy. To write. Even though I was trained for it.

Today, after having lived in 11 homes in the 19 years that we have been married, I realized I needed to learn to write all over again, one baby blog post at a time. So, here I am!

I have a dream
To go places
See the world as it is
Meet new people
Broaden my vision of the world
Sample new cuisines
Learn about new cultures
And spread the word.
Write. Write. Write.

      Hi Kedar,
Thanks for getting in touch with me. However I had to shut down my book club in January of 2012. And what an irony – we are now based in California and lived in Aundh before! Will check out your blog too!
      Thanks, Pradnya
